The Process and Practice of Community-Based Research:

Bonner FoundationBobby Hackett's text and links on CBR.

Office of University Partnerships:  During the Clinton Administration, the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has funded CBR centers and projects on campuses across the nation.  Brief project descriptions available online.

LOKA Institute:  U-Mass Amherst hosts a national organization that fosters community research projects, not necessarily of the campus-community kind that the Trenton Center wants to foster, but more community based.

Loyola University of Chicago:  Loyola of Chicago and 3 other Chicago universities do something similar to what the Trenton Center is proposing.  Started 8 years ago with MacArthur grants.

East Saint Louis Action Research Project: This is the "Ken Reardon" project Nino and I have been impressed with.

Isles, Inc. of Trenton:  Isles is a multi-function community development corporation here in Trenton.

Community Research Tools (Innonet): Useful tools for developing and refining community research instruments (surveys, focus groups).

Data Resources:

State of the Cities Data System from HUD: Census & labor statistics on SMAs, including historical decennial census data back to 1970, customizable to create tables for just Trenton and or Mercer County.

NJ Department of Labor: Office of Labor Planning Analysis: Homepage with links to NJ data sources, mostly on the county level.

Oregon State University Data Sharing Project: Federal statistical resources in user-friendly forms.

State of New Jersey Homepage: Portal to State pages.
